In the 4x400-metre relay, the combined efforts of Ibrahim Khalifa, Mohammed Majid, Mohammed Waqas and Marwan Ahmed secured a Bronze medal for the Guards in the face of a stiff competition.
In another close contest, for the 1,500-metre Bronze medal for the third place, Marwan Ahmed slipped into overdrive to put the frontrunners under pressure and take the medal for the Guards.
Meanwhile, a massive effort by Sajjad Miya impressed the crowd and his teammates when he took the second place in the men’s shot-put contest. The Guards Bronze medalist had to dig deep into his physical and mental reserves to come up with his award-winning performance.

The annual athletics competition was organised by the Public Security Sports Association on the directives of HE the Minister of Interior. The competition aims to increase the levels of physical fitness among the Ministry staff.
Medals and awards were presented to the winner athletes by Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, a firm supporter of the fitness initiative whose leadership and encouragement resulted in the event being such a success.
